The idyllic land of the rising sun. There are very few destinations that blend past and future as Japan. We will be painting Buddhist temples, Shinto Shrines, totally awe inspiring scenery and animal life particularly the delightful Snow Monkeys bathing in their hot springs. Not to forget the enigmatic Mount Fuji which we will be able to paint, perhaps surrounded by magical mists.

The trip price includes all transfers, bed and breakfast in all the hotels, and either lunch or dinner in all the hotels. We also have our own private English speaking tour guide with us the whole time. He will recommend restaurants to us for the other meals out.

We will be flying into Tokyo and then going on to see Hakone,Yamanouchi, Nagano, Kyoto and flying back from Osaka.

This trip is aimed at couples, or friends sharing. Either both painting, or for non painters/photographers there is much to do and see so there is no time to get bored whilst soaking up the culture!

Unfortunately, we do have to add a Single Person Supplement of £1050 but the price for couples or for friends sharing is very competitive given all that is included in this trip.

When you book, we will give you a Code Number and you must then send a copy of your passport to our Agent PeoplesTravel so they can book your flights and hotels to ensure your booking. We will send you all details about this when you book.

For all our overseas courses, you will have to bring your own painting materials and there will be an excellent list of what to bring sent to you well ahead of this trip. We will have a special Japanese meal, see a famous tea ceremony, and witness the beautiful Geisha. Silk Kimonos. Gorgeous food as well.

The Art of Japan

The interaction between Japanese and European art has been significant: for example ukiyo-e prints, which began to be exported in the 19th century in the movement known as Japonism, had a significant influence on the development of modern art in the West, most notably on post-Impressionism. Famous ukiyo-e artists include Hokusai and Hiroshige.

This extra special trip to paint Japan in the Autumn/Fall will show the vibrant fall colours, and it is the best time of the year to visit. Colours range from bright yellows, limes, deep reds, vibrant pinks in the foliage. The light is crisp and perfect for painting. Autumn/Fall is more colourful than spring famous for the cherry blossom and has the added advantage of being less crowded.

Led by Belinda Biggs, Seraphina and David Moody. Between us we have 30 years experience running these fabulous painting courses.

This course is already attracting international attention from previous guests who want to visit and paint in this stunning location, so early booking is essential to guarantee our places and the best rooms

Testimonials

Some lovely words from some super guests from our recent painting trip to the Himalayas March 2018.

'Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your hard work to ensure that our holiday was a success. You both really knocked yourselves out taking care of us. I couldn’t have asked for more. Hope your journey home was smooth. I’ll be in touch when I’ve had a go at finishing my pictures.'
Nancy B. Himalayas 2018

'Thank you Sara and David
Also thanks for a wonderful Holiday, I look at the pictures and think what a great experience it was. Being able to see the animals in the wild was a treat, as was seeing the Himalayas. It all went so fast. I have travelled a lot, and this trip is up among the top Holidays I have had.'
Best Wishes Karen. Himalayas 2018

We look forward to you joining us on this wonderful painting and cultural experience
